An alternative to a complete awning is a shade sail. Shade sails can be custom made to any size you require, or you can combine a number of smaller ones to cover a larger area (the solution you choose will depend partly on your site, and partly on your budget). Shade sails work by a tension system - the sails, often triangular in shape, are anchored to tension points which may be attached to the walls of the dwelling or to the tops of poles sunk into the ground. They have the advantage of being portable: if you sell your home, you can move the sail to your new home and reinstall it for the price of new tension points.
Owners of this auto-tilt model have a complete range of tilt positions at their fingertips and a resilient, simple to use umbrella frame that will bring years of shade enjoyment. The Beach Sail is far better since it provides much more shade (64 square feet), has a wonderful sand anchor for the pole, contains a sand shovel for the sand bags, greater SPF 50 protection, 11 month longer warranty, simple to carry/set-up and it is made in America.
You want your outdoor space to work well rain or shine and be well-lit too. Set the mood with outdoor lighting and install a few battery-powered pendant shades or sprinkle a few sconces along your backyard's walkway.
3. Safety First - Be sure the gas patio heater you choose is carefully engineered for safety. Industry-approved designs feature safety tilt switches, sealed burners, flame controls, electronic ignitions and emergency cut-off valves. No sense in looking good if you aren't safe.
