Silver Bullion Anyone?

I have to agree that silver is a precious metal.  It is even considered as a trading metal.  It is also a status symbol for some.  The wealthy and wise are currently acquiring lots of  silver bullion and silver bar in their collection. If I am to buy silver, I would not use it merely as status symbol, I would definitely use it as investment.  Many experts are actually suggesting to include silver in...

Oh, photos!

Some old photos were found. Amazing to see how we look like about fifteen years ago.  I could have shown you now but the scanner is in daughter’s room. Maybe some other day. We have lots of these photos from film strips or negative films.  I could definitely use a scanner software for them to capture the images and save and group them in batches.   These images could be sorted, too, with this software....

Brandy, We’ll Not See Each Other Often

Surprisingly, Papsie and I decided not to rendezvous on a weekend (anymore) with one of our reckless extravagance – brandy. As both of our friends know, Papsie and I are brandy drinkers (and lovers).    It had developed when Papsie’s doctor cousin told him, despite his condition, that he could have a taste of brandy, and off he went ‘tasting’ brandy.  Later, I found myself loving it, too. The love story initially started from...

What Went Wrong When Papsie Had a Stroke

An update in one of my FB friends is very timely.  It is about stroke and how it is possible to save a life, or save someone from suffering a lifetime effect of a stroke. It is even more timely because yesterday my blood pressure rose to 170/100.   What was scary is the fact that I did not feel any obvious signs of the BP rise, or maybe there was but I just...

Happy New Year 2012!

Happy New Year Everyone! It is another year to conquer.  It is the year of the Dragon as I was told. A tough opponent I surmise. I do not list things as resolution.  But there are things in mind for myself and Papsie that needs work out, and here’s wishing that we could both be successful.  The previous year was a very challenging one that was sometimes made difficult by difficult people, and situations....

A Sarah Palin gift?

Do you remember Sarah Palin? She was a 2008 Republican nominee for Vice Presidency in America. She was considered a potential candidate for the 2012 presidential election but announced last October 2011 that she would not run. We cannot tell what will happen next but if you are a believer or an avid fan of Palin, you can consider buying a sarah palin 2012 shirt, or a bumper sticker, or a post card. As...

Cable Covers

Cable management is important.  With today’s need for cables and the like, cable covers are necessities.  They protect loose cables, cover wire runs, or shield lots of cables. Cable covers have varieties, too.  There are translucent covers that are perfect for decorative accompaniment.  There are transparent ones , too.  These covers are also helpful in tidying up areas with lots of cords, or covering the exposed cords on the floor. Do you have them...

In a Grocery Store Where Mendicants Are

Puregold Balintawak opened today. The grocery store is big.  The prices are lower.  The most important thing is it is very near our house. I can’t help but notice though, and this is without judgment, that even the mendicants are allowed inside.  I say they are mendicants because they are dirty all over and their clothes are soiled.  I know, I can still be hated and possible to be branded judgmental.  But who would...

PC Games Enslavement

Image via Wikipedia PC Games are addictive I heard.  That is why I stayed away.  That is why my children were discouraged early on not to give so much attention even to those simple computer games when they were young.  Maybe that is why the addiction was not cultivated in them. Or perhaps these are not what hits their soft spots.  Each to his own. It takes a lot to love PC Games.  One...

An iPod is Different from an iPhone

The other day a friend went to the mall and immediately bought an iPhone as gift to his wife.  He had it delivered to their house.  The wife was so excited, and also the children.  When the unit came, his son exclaimed, “Pa, it is not an iPhone, it is ipod touch 32g!” So he rushed back to the mall that day and returned the item.  Good thing the store clerk still entertained him...
